Still Recovering

Turns out I have bronchitis, which turned into a nasty head cold.  Starting to feel a little better today, but man did it knock me on my butt.

Having to work through it all was not fun either (we are essential personnel at work and if you miss work due to illness it is not looked highly upon.  I had missed a few days in December, so I suffered).

All I know is that I feel like this, work has been stressful lately, and I want to go back on the cruise ship lol.

On tap today, I must go into town.  I need some groceries, and fresh fruits and veggies.  Also need to hit Wally World for some cleaning supplies.  I have a $100 gift card my parents gave me for Christmas that I will use.  Even though our bank account it nicely stocked, why use my own cash when I can use the gift card!

Other than that, I will be continuing to pack and clean here.  A bit of a house update.  We heard that the seller's first mortgage (they have two on their house) was approved by their lender to be sold as a short sale (YAY!) so now we're just waiting on the smaller second mortgage, which (hopefully!) should go through quickly.
We're looking at closing sometime mid-March.

Need to start getting all of the paperwork ready to finish our mortgage process, inspections, and moving truck.
It's going to get crazy busy here soon!

Quick Friday Hello!

Been dealing with a bad tooth for the past little while, but this week it has been really painful.  I have an appointment for a root canal on Jan 6, so I may just have to grin and bear it.

So instead of being productive, I've been in agony and trying just to sleep.  (I think it might be infected too...thank goodness for antibiotics that make you feel even worse).

Not much else going on.  Work is still work, although today is Friday (#1 good thing) we have our Holiday Luncheon (#2 good thing) and I'm not on the phones much today (#3 good thing).
AND I have the whole weekend off.  Hoping I can catch up on cleaning up my house, packing some more, and finish decorating the tree.  I have decided NOT to put up Christmas lights this year outside.  I might put up the deer, but I'm just not really in the full Christmas mood that I normally am in.

I also got J's box out to Afghanistan the other day, and totally forgot to wrap one gift...the one gift I really wanted to surprise him with :S
I'll get a small box and send that out on Saturday or Monday.  It might get there late though.

Time to Re-Organize

So, with the purchase of a new vehicle, it's time to do some reorganization of our finances (for now) and our lives.

Last weekend we went car shopping, which turned into car buying. We had the intention of buying a used vehicle. Well that went out the window. We ended up buying brand spanking new. But with the financing we got, we just couldn't pass up a new vehicle. We got a 2010 Ford Explorer. I had been looking at a 2007.
Oh well, another payment to make. But J just got his raise (which kicks in next paycheck) and I got my raise. And with the 2% reduction into social security, our take home pay is a little higher.

We've also got our taxes coming in, and my work gives a bonus either in February or March which I've heard is pretty much a paycheck in between paychecks, so that will be nice (I Hope!)

I also need to seriously reorganize our house. We live in a tiny house that definitely does not have enough room for us, the two cats and all of the stuff we own! Time to do some purging of stuff (mostly paperwork that I need to shred or recycle).

Well, back to work today after visting Ontario over the weekend. My maid of honour got married herself of Friday to a really great guy. So happy for them, and makes me realize how great my husband is. We're coming up on our 4year anniversary. Hard to believe! haha
