Turns out I have bronchitis, which turned into a nasty head cold. Starting to feel a little better today, but man did it knock me on my butt.
Having to work through it all was not fun either (we are essential personnel at work and if you miss work due to illness it is not looked highly upon. I had missed a few days in December, so I suffered).
All I know is that I feel like this, work has been stressful lately, and I want to go back on the cruise ship lol.
On tap today, I must go into town. I need some groceries, and fresh fruits and veggies. Also need to hit Wally World for some cleaning supplies. I have a $100 gift card my parents gave me for Christmas that I will use. Even though our bank account it nicely stocked, why use my own cash when I can use the gift card!
Other than that, I will be continuing to pack and clean here. A bit of a house update. We heard that the seller's first mortgage (they have two on their house) was approved by their lender to be sold as a short sale (YAY!) so now we're just waiting on the smaller second mortgage, which (hopefully!) should go through quickly.
We're looking at closing sometime mid-March.
Need to start getting all of the paperwork ready to finish our mortgage process, inspections, and moving truck.
It's going to get crazy busy here soon!
Thanks for the get better comments. It really does help a lot to have people thinking of you while you're down and out :)
Our Journey to becoming less haunted by debt. There will be good times, and I'm sure bad, but in the end we hope to bring our debt down and manage our financial lives responsibly.

Down and Out...Sort Of!
Sorry for the lack of posting about my cruise, but I have been down and out with a nasty cold and horrible sore throat.
And since I cannot miss work, talking all day on the phone isn't helping my throat get any better. Actually I wasn't feeling too bad yesterday, but I had to work and now I feel like I have swallowed a sword. C'est la vie.
I promise to get my cruise review out there by tomorrow :)
I can't wait to go back on Norwegian, and have become quite obsessed with finding another itinerary for J and I to go on.
Have a great day all! :)

Ugh...Sick, Sick, Sick
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Mine was great. My parents were here, and I spoiled them. We were able to Skype with J over in Afghanistan. In fact I skyped with him on his Christmas morning (Christmas Eve here) so that I could watch him open his gifts, and we skyped again on our Christmas morning, and his Christmas night so that he could watch us open gifts. J got me a really nice pair of diamond earrings. Simple, just like I like them :)
I made a Turkey breast, with stuffing (in the bird), mashed potatoes, yams, corn and gravy. My mom taught me well :) It was delicious!
Monday....I woke up feeling not so good. I went over to my parents hotel, since I was supposed to work that afternoon. By the afternoon...I was not making it to work. In fact, I said goodbye to my parents and came home. They left the next day, and I woke up from being sick all night. I didn't wake up until noon, got up had some gatorade and went back to bed. I think I was only awake for 3-4 hours yesterday. I went bed last night at 8pm and didn't wake up until 9am this morning. I feel like ugh. That's about the best word that I can think of for how I feel!
So that's where we are now.
Although I am trying to take this time to think of my 2012 goals.
I am also going to have my payoff schedule set up (hopefully!) in the next couple of days.
I'll be back before the new year with all of that :)
Have a great day! Hope you feel better than I do! :)

Unexpected Deployment Cost
So, after not hearing from J for 2 days, and becoming really worried (and rightly so!) I finally heard from him yesterday night (or really early morning for him). Apparently food over there isn't as good as mine *wink* and he got some sort of food poisoning. They don't know if it is viral or bacterial, so they are treating him for both. Had to go to the doctor on base and get pills and an IV.
Orginally when we were preparing for him to go over there, we were told that his insurance would be good over there. WRONG! They take Aetna but his company wasn't on the list. So he had to use his debit card where his paycheck goes (which I wasn't going to have him take, but glad I did!) and $379 he's good to go. Funny thing is, they write the number down and process it in the states. Great, now I have to monitor the account to make sure there is no fraud. J doesn't really think of those things :P
Someone has definitely dropped the ball somewhere, and they are supposed to look into it. I will hopefully hear from J tonight again, or tomorrow morning with some news.
I'm just glad I didn't go all debt paying happy and not leave enough for what J had to pay.
Back to working the numbers...

The Week That Was
So my week wasn't so bad. If having the FLU isn't bad!
Had to return back to the doctor on Friday. Where they swabbed my nose and tested for the flu. POSITIVE! Yay, now I know exactly why I feel so bad!
Co-Pay: $25
Prescriptions: $35
Yesterday morning at about 2:30am my husband came home from training in California. I woke up to him trying to 'park' the car. Actually, he was stuck in the snowbank in front of our house and didn't want to wake me up. I ended up going out there, and pushing him out of the snowbank, and letting him park where the truck is (there's no snow under it). Those drugs must be pretty good, or I'm superwoman haha.
We went grocery shopping and paid some bills.
Groceries: $15
I had won 2 $20 giftcards at work and I finally took advantage of using them, our out of pocket was around $15. It will get me homemade soup for 3 days, and dinners for myself for the next little while. Hubby will be in training again next week, and the week after, wash rinse repeat until deployment.
Tax money will be here soon too, so that will pay off some debt, plus my bonus will come in between paychecks in February, which will pay off more debt.
Yea! Paying off debt will be fun :)
I'm going to work on some goals for February, I like the way other blogs I read do that, including Won't Go Down Without a Fight
If you don't read it, go..read, now :)

Day 2 of Being Sick
So....I decided to just stay home today. May do the same tomorrow if this fever isn't gone.
We got hit with about 10" of snow, so at 8:30am I went out and cleaned off the truck. Which made me feel worse.
Drove to the clinic, and although the sign on the door said they would be open at 8am, they are not.
So I came home. Called in sick, and found out, that the clinic is opening at 1pm today.
Last night was not good. Fever spiked at 101.6, kept waking up, and someone called my cell phone twice at 6:30am which was a wrong number.
Can I just go crawl in a hole and die? It would probably feel a lot better than how I feel right now!

No Spend Week No More
Woke up this morning with a sore throat and hacking cough. I was going to go to the clinic before going to work, but I felt so bad that I didn't leave myself enough time to go to the clinic and get to work on time.
Luckily, Wednesday is when the nurse is supposed to be there. I went a little before my shift was supposed to start, and the nurse sent me home right away. Running a fever, and with my other symptoms she didn't want me to infect anyone there. So off I went to the clinic, with a prognosis of Bronchitis.
Co-Pay $25
Prescription $10
Time off of work, not good. I work where we are considered "essential personnel" and they don't like if you take unscheduled leave. I HAVE to go back tomorrow, or face being reprimanded, even though I am still running a fever and feel horrible. Not only is my chest hurt, but I'm on a Z-Pack which makes my stomache muscles cramp so bad.
So yay. Plus, we've got a snowstorm going on right now (not that I mind, but when you feel like death warmed over, snow not so fun).
