October and Snow???

So last weekend we go from high 60s and a gorgeous fall day to this....

I'm used to having the possibility of snow in October growing up in Ontario, but I'm not so sure my fellow Virginians are used to it.
It's funny, it's cold in the house (turned on the heat for the first time) and looking out the window, it put me in a Christmas mood!  If it were going to stay around for a while (which it probably won't) I would almost be tempted to set up our small Christmas tree, wrap some presents for J and celebrate Christmas early since he will be in Afghanistan this year for the Holidays.

Day 2 of Being Sick

So....I decided to just stay home today. May do the same tomorrow if this fever isn't gone.

We got hit with about 10" of snow, so at 8:30am I went out and cleaned off the truck. Which made me feel worse.

Drove to the clinic, and although the sign on the door said they would be open at 8am, they are not.
So I came home. Called in sick, and found out, that the clinic is opening at 1pm today.

Last night was not good. Fever spiked at 101.6, kept waking up, and someone called my cell phone twice at 6:30am which was a wrong number.

Can I just go crawl in a hole and die? It would probably feel a lot better than how I feel right now!

No Spend Week No More

Woke up this morning with a sore throat and hacking cough. I was going to go to the clinic before going to work, but I felt so bad that I didn't leave myself enough time to go to the clinic and get to work on time.
Luckily, Wednesday is when the nurse is supposed to be there. I went a little before my shift was supposed to start, and the nurse sent me home right away. Running a fever, and with my other symptoms she didn't want me to infect anyone there. So off I went to the clinic, with a prognosis of Bronchitis.

Time off of work, not good. I work where we are considered "essential personnel" and they don't like if you take unscheduled leave. I HAVE to go back tomorrow, or face being reprimanded, even though I am still running a fever and feel horrible. Not only is my chest hurt, but I'm on a Z-Pack which makes my stomache muscles cramp so bad.

So yay. Plus, we've got a snowstorm going on right now (not that I mind, but when you feel like death warmed over, snow not so fun).
