Life Is Semi-Normal

I've been in the house for 1 week now, and I'm still getting used to the different sounds, having 3 bathrooms, and which light switch goes to what.
I love this house though (although not loving the train), and I cooked my first meal here on my day off last week. Chicken Fried Rice which I love.

Speaking of cooking in my house.  I need to start this again, and when J gets home in 13 days (yay!) we will definitely be eating in more and using the nice gas cooktop and double oven :)
I hope with that I will continue to be able to lose weight.  With the cruise only 258 days away I would like to be able to wear a bathing suit and not feel so self-conscious.

As of last Monday my weight was down, but that was due to stress and moving lots and lots of boxes and furniture.  I don't really want to know what it is now.

I MUST do this.  Back to water (or flavouring my water) and cutting the carbs (which I love!)

Finances.  We made our first mortgage payment for May 1 and I just set up our next one to Wells Fargo who bought the mortgage from Amerisave. I love this, because I didn't like Amerisave, J isn't so happy.  He had a bad experience with WF many years ago.  But we will deal with it.
Reason I made our June 1 payment today is so that I can get 1 month ahead on it.  We will make the $1430/month payment from John's paycheck, and I will add additional principal from my paycheck starting here soon.
I would love to be able to at least make an additional $50/month in principal to it.

J has been having fun buying things that he never thought he would be able to afford. And I am fine with that.  As long as we'll be able to pay the cars, mortgage, utilities we'll be good.  And we'll still have fun money.

The credit cards have been used, but that's only because we are using it for airline miles and cashback.  It is NOT going to be like it was.  Charge charge charge and only pay a little back each month. That's how we got into trouble before.  For the most part, they are paid in full after the statement cuts.    I'm not one of those folks who doesn't believe in credit cards, or living completely debt free.  I just want to be financially responsible.  My parents live like this, they are happy and as far as I know have never had any financial issues.
And they are happy :)

Well, it's Monday and today is Truly Monday for me as I didn't work yesterday.  I have an interview for the supervisor position today, I hope I do ok.  I interview well so I should be fine. Wish me luck though!

Hope you all have a great start to the week :)

Back to Normal...Well Semi-Normal!

I feel a lot better today! Thank you all for your 'get well' wishes.  I hate feeling like that, especially after coming back from vacation.  Makes you want to go BACK on vacation haha.

Not much in the debt updates.  Not until payday at the end of this week anyway.

On the weight loss front, I had my 1 month update with my doc, since I am on the prescription meds to help curb my appetite.  I am down 8lbs in 5 weeks! I am pretty stoked about this, and so is my doc.  Progress is progress and hopefully it continues on this path.  I go back in another month.  They want to check weight, BP and pulse.  And just to remind you all, I am also doing this in conjunction with Weight Watchers, so no worries on just using the meds.  Doc was happy to hear that too :)

And I PROMISE that I will post about my cruise for tomorrow.  I have a lot of pics that I want to include and don't want to overload my posting with them, so I will edit that post and have up for tomorrow morning :)
I am already in contact with NCL about booking for next January with the bonus money that will get next week.  J and I never had a honeymoon, and while we could put it towards our home or the truck, with the other debt that will be paid off, we don't really 'need' the bonus money.  After all, it is a 'BONUS'.  Besides, I think it will be nice for the both of us to go away somewhere that isn't just a drive away.  We can do that anytime (and have).  I think the nice blue ocean will be a nice change from the dusty desert that J has seen for the past year :)

Hope you all have a great week! (I have today off, so I am loving this Monday for once haha)

Short Work Week

Love short work weeks.  Since January 1 was Sunday, and I can be scheduled to work Sundays, it was a Holiday.  I'm also guaranteed a 'day off' so that was yesterday, and tomorrow I have a scheduled sick day. So only 3 days of work this week. LOVE IT.

Yesterday was a very productive day for me.  15,000 mile maintenance and oil change for the Explorer, Done.  Root Canal for my tooth which I have been dealing with since October, Done! (This was actually supposed to be done Friday, hence the sick day.  They had a cancellation and the office is located across the street from the dealership so killed two birds with one stone on that trip).  And I went to taekwondo since I need to get back into the habit of it.  Hurt my achilles, but this is nothing unusual.  I need to talk to my doctor about setting up an appointment with a specialist who will be willing to do surgery.  One podiatrist already stated he won't do it because 'I'm too young to have this condition'.  Ya, well, it hurts to walk, like, A LOT.  Think if having someone slicing the back of your heels, and you don't even need to be moving to have it happen.  This is what I feel on a daily basis.  My achilles tendons are literally turning into bone.  Not fun.

The weight loss is going good.  The first day that I took the weight loss prescription I felt a little weird, but I think I'm getting used to it.  And it seems to be working.  I am doing the weight watchers and being good about logging what I put into my body.  I know you are only supposed to weigh in once per week, but I couldn't resist just seeing if things were going down, and so far I have lost 3lbs!  I know that may not seem much to some, but I am very close to going to a number I haven't seen in a long time (I've been stuck in the 230s for a long time, and I can't wait to have those milestones, even if it's 5lbs here and there).

Everything money wise is good.  The only expenses I have had this week are necessary ones.

Rent: $850
Root Canal: $145 (my insurance will pay 90% so this payment was 10% plus my $50 deductable)
Groceries: $28
Gas: $60 (this should last 2 weeks hopefully.  I don't have any long trips planned)
Truck: $53

Can't wait for the work day to end so that I have the next two days off.
Hope you all are having a great week! :)

New Pages

I've decided to add some pages at the top of my blog here.

Reason being, I don't want to have to keep looking for my 2012 Goals, when I can keep them in one spot!  Makes me more accountable to them :)

Another accountable page, weight loss in Losing Myself I really need to lose weight.  Especially if I'm looking to become in a family way (hehe I've always wanted to say that!) later this year.
I didn't want to conflict both of these goals in one place, but I will definitely brag about milestones here :P

If you want to follow and push me along, please do!  I really need it some days, since J is not here to kick my butt.  Plus, he's been working out really hard with his roommate in Afghanistan.  He'll probably lose weight and be in great shape when he gets home, and he's already skinny! <_<

I'm hoping this works this time.  In fact, I've got my doctor in on this one along with Weight Watchers, so I'm sure I'll hear it from the doc if I don't!

It's all about a new year, a new beginning and a new start for me :)

I'm Back!

Probably not that many people noticed I was gone haha.

Hubby deployed a week and a half ago. So far it's been ok. He's able to email me and they have a satellite phone that he calls me on it every few days.

He's doing ok over there so far, and I'm doing ok here haha. I'm sure it will hit me in a bit that he won't be back until October, and how far off that is.

His first big (well bigger than) paycheck is this week and we'll be able to start paying off things much faster and saving much more. I haven't got a plan just yet on what to pay or pay off first. I think I will wait until that first paycheck comes in and I will start to 'plan' it all out.

On another note, I will be starting a new position at work, which is more of a 'supervisory' position which means new hours, new responsibility, and more money.

I hope to be back much much more starting.....today! :)

May I'm going to try and have 10 no spend days.
I'm going to try and pay off 4 or more CCs and J's Personal loan (long story, and let's just say that I do NOT like the FAA out of Oklahoma)
And....stick to my Weight Watchers :P Hope to lose 5lbs. We'll see how it all turns out :)
