Looking Back On 2011

At the beginning of 2011, J was working for a different division, we had close to $30,000 in Credit Card Debt, and things were going nowhere.

Come middle of January, J switched to a new division in which he would be deployed to Afghanistan for 6 months starting in April.  Since his new division was further away from where we live than his old position and the company wanted him close by, he stayed at an extended stay (at the expense of work!) Mon-Fri so I barely saw J.  Then he went to Las Vegas for work for 42 days, so again, barely saw J, and then he deployed April 21 and returned Oct 21.  Saw J for 30 days and he left again for another (and final!!!!) deployment.  Left Nov 21 and will return May 21.  I miss my husband.  But we both know what this sacrifice means.

We have put the offer in on our home, waiting for everything to come through on that, being patient with that has been fun! To be continued in to 2012.

We paid off all of the US credit card debt YAY!!!! I never thought that would be gone.

We've been able to save more money than we had before.

All in all a good year, although one with many sacrifices.  I look forward to 2012 to continued debt payoff, a new chapter in our marriage for J and I with the new house, and hopefully a family to start :)

Happy New Year everyone!

Wow, you guys really have sacrificed a lot this year. But at least there has been some substantial monetary compensation for that sacrifice, and that is the reward of being able to pay off your credit card debt. That is huge. I wish the two of you success and happiness in pursuing your dreams in 2012 and beyond.
